Salvatore Ferragamo for its Spring Summer 2011 advertising campaign, pays tribute to 1968 French film la “Piscine”starring Alain Delon, Jane Birkin and Romy Schneider. The luxury Italian house bring us a summery new collection, photographed by Mikael Jansson and featuring Clément Chabernaud & Daria Werbowy styled by Anastasia Barbieri.
Massimiliano Giornetti, Ferragamo’s new creative director took inspiration from Jacques Deray’s film La Piscine which is essentially the source of inspiration for this season’s collection. The result is an elegant, sophisticated, sexy look that retains a nostalgia for classics from past decades.
Just like in the 1968 film, the campaign shots describe a sophisticated poolside seduction, with the natural allure of the protagonists’ tanned bodies, the lazy spontaneity of utter relaxation, the casual elegance of a cocktail at sunset and embraces in evening attire before a party on the beach. Daria Werbowy embodies the easy, bohemian spirit of Birkin with a very natural grace, dressed for the part in Ferragamo’s latest white, ecru, and marine-hued crocheted knits, maxidresses, and minis. Meanwhile, Clément Chabernaud channels the suave Alain Delon, appearing alternately moody and insouciant in Werbowy’s arms.
Also present in the campaign shots are Ferragamo accessories; sandels in leather and raffia, bags with natural textures, one-of-a-kind wristwatches and stylish sunglasses, ultraflat slave sandels and bijoux like talismans, all of which are familiar icons of Ferragamo.
As usual Salvatore Ferragamo always deliver great style and fabulous clothing. We love it…
